Candice A. Peters, M.D.
Dr. Candice Peters is a Board Certified Doctor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or PM&R. Dr. Peters, a Native of Washington, D.C., attended medical school at Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate training at Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went on to complete her PM&R residency at the University of Pennsylvania. During her PM&R training, she also completed acupuncture training at The Helms Acupuncture Institute/UCLA.
Dr. Peters uses a comprehensive approach to improving patient function with her training in PM&R as well as in Medical Acupuncture. Her areas of clinical interest include treatment of conditions such as neck and back pain, overuse injuries such as Tendonopathy and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Degenerative Joint Disease of the spine and extremities, muscle pain and Bursitis. In addition she performs nerve conduction and EMG studies to diagnose neuromuscular diseases. She is a Rehab Consultant at several subacute rehab and skilled nursing facilities in Maryland, in addition to caring for patients in her office in Rockville. Dr. Peters is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
