Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
‘Physiatry’ is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. They specialize in restoring optimal function to people with injuries to muscle, bones, tissues and nervous systems (e.g. stroke). They work with the Physical & Occupational therapists in the various SNF & LTC facilities to provide them with consultations and direction.
Dr. Nina Rajaei completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in New York Medical College (NYMC) December 2013 and joined the practice in the fall of 2014. Dr. Rajaei’s clinical practice emphasizes on non-surgical management of musculoskeletal diseases such as back and neck pain, arthritis, muscle pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, and sports medicine. She performs NCS’s and EMG’s for diagnosing neuromuscular diseases. She is also skilled in using musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnosis and treatment of various musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Rajaei can see patients in the office and in the subacute rehab and skilled nursing facilities.
